happy Spring

Well, the weather is gloomy and depressing here -- but this makes me happy. On a leisurely 'stroll' the other day, I took my kitchen shears and snipped little branches of blossoms around my neighborhood. Hopefully I didn't look too crazy. I then put them in 9 different baby jars hot-glued together into a square, and wrapped some lace around it. A cheap way to get some fresh florals into my kitchen.

wishful thinking..

I sooooo wish I could make my little girl's nursery look like this adorable room:
(And I could handle having that rug in every room in my house!!)

Here you go...

As requested, here are the photos from my wreath from last year which sat this season in a storage unit in La Mirada CA. Maybe its virtual appearance here makes up for it being locked up this year.

Christmas Wreath

So, I must say that this idea came from Lindsay's personal blog last year. My friend Rachell and I got together a few weeks ago and made this little cutie. We just bought ornaments from the dollar store, took out the top part that has the hook/string attached, and hot glued it top-down into a foam wreath.
p.s. Lindsay - I think you should dig out and post the picture of your wreath last year. It is too cute not to share.

Christmas Ornaments

I found some really cheap, ugly ornaments at the dollar store for 12 cents a piece and decided to make my own unique ornaments out of them.
So, I cut some strips of fabric..

Mod-podged them on to the ornament...

I let it dry sitting in the rim of a plastic cup...
And here they are. I even added a little ruffle on a few of them. One of the best parts is they're unbreakable and very kid safe.

Hoot Hoot

So my friend Krista introduced me to another great blog. There are a million out there.. this was just such a cute owl project I had to post it here so I can remember where I found it. Owl decor is still pretty big right now, so this could be something fun to make for Halloween, or just because it's fantastic.

Ruffled Pumpkins

So.. I just stumbled across these adorable pumpkins from Jen's blog. I seriously love them a lot. Since Halloween is almost here, I'm probably going to postpone making these until next year, but you better believe I'm going to make them! They are so dang cute and stylish. You can find the tutorial here.
