Crochted Scarf x 2

A big thank you to Beth for showing me what's up and how to crochet. We had a ball {literally} during our week in D-town making all sorts of fun things. After I got home I was inspired to make something of my own, so I fused a couple of the patterns we'd done together and came up with this. It keeps me warm during these cold, hard California months and I've gotten so many compliments on it, cause it's truly unique.

The big buttons are a must.

Loved it so much, I had to make 2.

Paper Flowers

How cute is this little guy?? Thanks to the little birdies for posting it.
Loving all the paper flowers/scrapping with rosettes lately. SO adorable.

Easy as pie...

I've never really understood that saying...but dressing up this bag is definitely easier than making a pie. The bag itself is sold at Joanns/Michaels for like $5. Then first I sewed the ruffle on the top (just black 2" grosgrain ribbon) same ruffle as shown in this post.

Next I found a bowl the same size as I wanted the completed flower to be. I traced that circle out 4 times on my fabulous damask fabric and cut them out. Next I folded each circle once in half and then in half again and glued them all down in the flower shape. Any fabric glue will work.

The finishing touch was a big black button sewn in the center.

Button Earrings

I have been looking for fabric earring tutorials all over the internet lately and can't find one (if you know where one is.. let me know)!! I did come across this blog post, however, and thought it would be fun to try. Very cute, and Tanya explains so well how to do it!

Ruffles with Grosgrain Ribbon

I came across this idea from Blue Cricket Design {one of my favorite blogs} and decided to see how easy it really was.
This project took no time at all, and I love the result. If you're more of an audio learner here's the link to the Studio 5 episode where she talks you through it.



Then last night I was working on the title page for my new scrapbook project {more about that later} and I used this same technique on my page.
