Just another one my DI finds: this old boy-scout fleur-de-lis. Heinously awful in yellow and brown.

So I painted it white and stenciled it with a purple paint. Easy makeover.

Amanda, sorry this has taken me sooo long to post. I made these cute little guys last Christmas. I found this tutorial for the elephant and this tutorial the giraffe on makeitandloveit. I then made a whale and seahorse pattern (printed off a silhouette, traced it onto fabric, etc.), and put them together the same way as the elephant and giraffe. The seahorse was a little more tricky because that skinny little tail is hard to get batting into. Make sure if you do it, you make it big enough to stuff. Have fun!

Delicious Toy Story

I'm back.. after a long absence. I've missed you, blogging world! Sorry about my lack of posting, summertime takes over. I can't argue with nice weather, family in town, vacations, etc.

So... here is my latest creation in the kitchen.

Sweet Suspenders

I've done it. Officially found an appropriate accessory for my little boys.
Once again Ashley has given us another fabulous idea. They are easy and wonderful and I'm in love with these little suspenders.
3 pairs later and we're going strong.

Caprese Sandwich

Here's another delich-dish that has made me happy at several lunch hours.

Here's how:

Layer tomatoes, fresh mozza, fresh basil leaves and italian dressing atop a fresh Ciabatta loaf.

What a pretty little sandwich.

Ruffle my bib {Part 2 & 3}

When I took these photos, I didn't take any separate images of the onesie, so here are parts 2 & 3 of this outfit together. For the onesie I copied this idea, just downsized it a bit. Started with the flowers and sewed them on this knit piece.

Then I ruffled this black knit piece and left it pinned down while I sewed the top piece on.


For the bottoms, I just replicated the process from the bib to the back of these cute little tights.



Once my sister-in-law welcomes her little girl into the world, we can pair this outfit with a cute little body and face.

B-day Bash

My little boy turned one last weekend, so we of course partied with him. I made a little b-day banner, hung some chinese lanterns, and made my first tiered cake for him.

I was told it looks a little like a Dr. Seuss cake. I like Dr. Seuss so I'm okay with that :)

It's not perfect, but it was fun to try.
